Welcome to the St. Vincent Botanical Gardens Curator’s House; this elegant piece of classical Colonial architecture occupies a prominent position in the Gardens. Constructed in 1891 as a home for the Curator of the Gardens, the house is now owned by the St. Vincent and the Grenadines National Trust, and once housed the National Collection of Pre-colonial Archaeology which was curated by the renowned Dr. Earl I.A. Kirby (1921 – 2005).
In 2009, under the national Tourism Development project funded by the Government of SVG, and the European Union, the Curator’s House was restored to its original architectural style, and the SVG National Trust plans to establish a herbarium and museum on the history of the SVG Botanical Gardens here, in the near future.
